NFL 2025 season: Week six

Live coverage features text commentary of Sunday's games via multiple platforms, beginning with Denver Broncos v New York Jets at Tottenham (kicking off at 2 PM BST). Additionally, audio coverage is available on designated networks covering a separate game (from 21:00 BST).

We're in the sixth week in the football calendar , following last week's talk about two top teams being a potential Super Bowl match-up, they both surrendered their perfect starts.

Striking during those contests were the number of penalties both conceded. The Eagles did so in key moments so they essentially defeated themselves having led by two touchdowns going into the fourth period against Denver, who play overseas this weekend.

However it proved good to see that Denver quarterback the rookie managed to have that deficit and then direct three scoring drives in three attempts in the fourth quarter, to win the victory 21-17.

Denver boast the top defender in CB their star corner. They rank first in goal-line defense, while the Eagles lead the league in scoring near the end zone, yet Denver won that contest.

They had the Eagles' number in terms of disguised blitzes. They weren't always sending extra defenders but they could plug two linebackers in the 'A' gap before drop them out and dispatch a nickel from the outside.

At the start in the campaign, we said during a show how the Broncos could be this season's surprise contenders. They finished last season strongly and excelled in continuing that momentum.

Could Denver be this season's underdog story?

New tight end Evan Engram has excelled significantly while recent running back JK Dobbins is a player they believe in. He's currently 5th in the NFL for rushing yards (over 400) and tied-fourth for rushing touchdowns (4).

It's impressive how head coach Sean Payton has "RUN IT!" at the top on his call sheet.

That shows how the Broncos represent a squad that wants to run first, since one can do a lot based on that approach. It slows opposing rushes while maintains in favourable situations.

This has helped QB Bo Nix, who came the NFL as a first-round selection in the prior draft, passing for 29 TDs – second only to a star QB in rookie records (31 back in 2020).

Josh Allen and Herbert have the arm strength to throw anywhere, however they don't move the mobility as Nix. He has incredible passing ability, a unique trait, and he is so athletic.

His assets include his mobility, the capacity to throw on the run, as well as finding varied release points to make throws when he rolls out of the pocket, on rollouts. He can throw that layered pass across the middle and over the corner.

As a rookie QB, aged 25, he's got great composure in the pocket and is not bothered by the blitz. He tries to avoid being tackled as much as possible and is able throw under pressure. He possesses a high football IQ and is quick to decide.

If you consistently run the ball it eats up time and forces the defence to stay in play extended periods, and when you have a mobile QB the defence must defend the field downfield and horizontally. This proves draining.

The quarterback has bitten back with the coach during games sometimes and I think Payton likes that attitude, that he's such a competitor. I think it's fun for the coach to coach a rookie QB who's kind of like play-dough. He can truly develop him the way he desires to shape him. I think it's a special experience for him.

The head coach owns a Super Bowl and has surpassed a legend for career NFL wins (173 - tied 14th overall). He's seen everything. I think the achievements Denver are experiencing on offence is largely down to his guidance, his schemes, his game sense – and the combination with Nix helps shape him what he is.

You wouldn't want a more qualified person guiding you, to assist you during difficult moments and boost self-belief.

I believe in the Broncos' defense, in Bo Nix's tenacity and composure. But are they strong enough to face an elite team at full strength? Because that was not a Super Bowl performance by the Eagles in their last game.

Currently, I don't think the Broncos are incredible. They're performing better than most, that's a solid position to be in the AFC West. All they need to do to continue this trajectory.

They're really good at leaning into their forte, that is the ground game, and this is exactly what they must do against the New York Jets at Tottenham. It will likely be the JK Dobbins show, in essence.

The Jets have allowed 140 yards on the ground per game (sixth worst), five ground scores so far (in the bottom ten), and they are the sole squad without a win a game.

Ever since the league started recording turnovers decades ago, the Jets are also the first team to go without a single takeaway in five outings, this is surprising when you think that their new coach was previously a defensive coach at the Detroit Lions.

The Chiefs' QB stated Kansas City have 'already lost too many games' following Monday's defeat to Jacksonville.

After this Sunday's game, Denver have a manageable slate up to their bye (in week twelve) - the Giants, Dallas Cowboys, the Texans and the Raiders before the Chiefs.

Looking at the AFC West, the Chiefs are 2-3 while Denver are tied with the Los Angeles Chargers at 3-2 meaning they could make a run for the top of the division.

This hinges upon what version of the Chiefs they face because Denver {beat|def
