The Red Devils Poised to Sign German Forward Lea Schüller away from the Bavarian Giants
Manchester United are finalising completing the signing for prolific Germany striker Lea Schüller in a permanent move from the Frauen-Bundesliga champions.
A Major Signing for the WSL Side
The forward, with six months remaining on her contract, is known as a prolific goalscorer for her club and the national team. She has netted over 100 goals for the German giants and scored 54 times in 82 appearances for her country. Her arrival will be seen as a major coup for the Women’s Super League side.
Departure from Munich has been anticipated after she appeared to be holding back emotions while applauding the German club’s supporters after a win over Bayer Leverkusen this month.
It was reported in late December that the Frauen-Bundesliga was set to lose one of its top strikers. Per multiple sources, all the paperwork for the move have now been completed.
Reliable Goal Threat to Boost United's Forward Line
The 28-year-old’s arrival is expected to provide a significant boost to United’s forward line. She has been remarkably consistent with her finishing in Germany’s top flight.
- Over seven straight seasons, including the most recent campaign, she achieved at least a double-figures tally of league goals.
- She won the Golden Boot in the 2021-22 season with 16 goals.
