England’s men’s team will initiate their UEFA Euro 2028 campaign at the Etihad Stadium, on the condition that they achieve the expected qualification for a competition taking place in the majority of the UK and the Ireland.

City’s stadium has not staged an Three Lions fixture since the spring of 2016, when the Turkish team were overcome 2-1 in a friendly, but is expected to host the Three Lions for their inaugural game on Saturday 10 June 2028.

Locations and Knockout Stage

Aston Villa’s stadium and Spurs’ ground complete the nine tournament locations. Each one will hold at least one playoff fixture, with the quarterfinal matches held at each country’s national stadium.

The qualification draw will be conducted in Belfast, which was excluded as a venue city last year when it became clear Casement Park could not be renovated in time, on 6 December 2026.
