The artist has handed over the entirety of his twenty-five thousand pound honor cash to the MVT, which functions to save the Britain's small live music spots.

Fender was presented with the award on October 16 as his third album the album was chosen as the best record of the previous year.

Fender has chosen to donate the funds to the Music Venues Trust, in appreciation of the essential function local spots had in his beginning days.

"As an artist couldn't be pursuing this success if it wasn't for all the gigs I performed around the area, and further afield, when I was beginning," stated Fender. "These locations are renowned, but they are in difficulty."

Since the start of 2023, at least 150 of these spaces have shut down – roughly 16% of the whole industry in the UK.

In the last year, top acts such as Pulp, Coldplay, Katy Perry and Ed Sheeran have all aided the trust in its efforts to support the industry, by applying a modest fee to their ticket prices, which benefits smaller concert halls.

Fender also took part, generating in excess of £100,000 on his 2024 arena tour to help numerous small stages across Britain.

The money supported spaces that were confronting potential shutdown due to issues stemming from floods, fires and bereavements, as well as licensing issues, legal disputes and sound issues.

Other venues received financial assistance in modernizing amenities and technical equipment that helped musicians and fans.

"The concept that money from concerts in big venues supports the local stages, where it kicks off for performers like me, is just common sense," the star has stated.

He is not the first artist to give his award winnings to charitable organizations.

Back when the band received the trophy in the mid-90s for their release the album, frontman the singer announced that the act would contribute their prize money to the charity War Child.

In 2002, rapper and singer she shared her prize across several charities, such as the NSPCC and a Sickle Cell charity.

"Additionally, I donated a grand to my local community centre, to their gymnastics program, because I did gymnastics when I was a child and they lacked better apparatus," Ms Dynamite shared with a publication.

Two years ago, they contributed their prize money to the community center that supported their act, as well as other local music groups.

Also winners that year they gave their prize to a multiple sclerosis charity after a acquaintance was identified with the disease.

"Receiving the award was ample," stated artist Heather Small. "The cash was the extra but we didn't require the cherry, because we had the cake. So our success impacted another person's life."

Recently, the Music Venues Trust shared it had saved two local spots in that region, by placing them under local control.

One venue in that area and The Croft in that location were purchased under the community ownership scheme, which is backed by the arts council and supporters who purchase "stakes" in the properties.
