Football Analyst Chris Sutton Battles Singer Olly Murs in Premier League Forecasts
Arsenal's ten-match victorious run was ended by Sunderland prior to the global break, but will the English top division frontrunners bounce back against local foes Tottenham this weekend?
"{I feel like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a plan for this match," remarked soccer specialist Chris Sutton.
"Frank will try to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling best this season - but Mikel Arteta's side usually still find a way to win."
Sutton is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League games this term, against AI, fans and a range of special visitors.
In the twelfth round, he faces singer Olly Murs, who is a United supporter.
Murs' latest album, the new release, is available on Friday.
Football and Parenting Experiences
Murs is a skilled footballer as well as a successful artist and has been a featured player of several Soccer Aid games over time - but he is not intending a professional comeback as a player.
"{I actually played in a charity game the other night for a mate of mine," he said. "The side was losing 3-1 when I was substituted in the 60th minute, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you want!
"I still love football, but I injured my knee a few years ago and it even now hasn't fully recovered. I wish I could play more but the unpredictability of the sport means it's too risky for me in my career to do it seriously again.
"Additionally I am forty-one now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am gearing up for the moment that my daughter or son decides to play instead."
Murs and his wife his partner have two children, Madison and their son, and he is ready to follow in his father's footsteps by becoming their manager.
"I won't force football on our kids but I've already told Amelia that if they happen to get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will probably be coaching their Saturday soccer side," he said.
"I watched my nephews play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I obviously owned a soccer team for a while too.
"My father coached with us when I was a child, which is probably where I inherited it. He managed our team for two or three years and had a wonderful time with it. That might be the next step for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"
Top Division Predictions
Weekend, 22 November
- Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT
The Blues may have to be patient for Cole Palmer's comeback from fitness issues but their offense is now stronger with Pedro and Liam Delap both returned to fitness.
In my opinion this game will be fairly close, however. Burnley are disciplined and their sole at Turf Moor defeats so far have been against the Reds and the Gunners.
This smells of a 1-1 tie to me, but I am actually going to choose the London side to win narrowly for what would be their third consecutive league win in a row.
The expert's prediction: 1-2
Olly's pick: Chelsea will be too strong. 1-3
Artificial intelligence's prediction: 0-2
- Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT
Bournemouth have lost their past two games - albeit both of them were on the road - but they got absolutely spanked by Aston Villa last time out which surprised me.
On the other hand, the Hammers won back-to-back victories before the hiatus and, although both of those fixtures were at their stadium, they do look competitive again.
West Ham's sole on the road win this campaign came at Forest in the summer, when their boss Nuno Espirito Santo was previously Forest coach.
Therefore, what exactly do I predict here - will it be West Ham extending their run under Nuno, or the home side bouncing back?
I will choose Bournemouth, because I believe what occurred against Aston Villa was a blip.
Sutton's prediction: 2-0
The guest's outlook: Bournemouth are performing strongly but the visitors have picked up under Nuno. 2-2
AI's pick: 1-1
- Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT
The Bees were considered one of the favourites for relegation before the campaign started, but they have surprised a few observers under their manager and are in good form with three in their last four games.
My son told me to get Bees striker Igor Thiago in my Fantasy Football squad a few weeks ago and, unfortunately, I ignored the advice.
The forward will likely score again on the weekend but I am nonetheless not going to select him or support Brentford at Brighton's ground.
They have not had much success on the travel this term, and Brighton are always decent at their stadium. Brentford will attempt to hit them on the counter-attack but I feel the home manager's team carry much more of a danger.
The analyst's prediction: 2-1
The singer's view: It could be one of those games where you think there is going to be a lot of goals but it actually proves to be quite tight. 1-1
The computer's outcome: 2-1
- Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT
This is a massive game for Fulham, who have suffered defeat in five of their last six games.
They have have lots of quality in their team but it nonetheless seems like they could be dragged into a relegation battle.
As for the Black Cats, well they are the surprise package of the top flight campaign so far.
Their performance in the 2-2 tie with the Gunners last time out was superb. We've not witnessed any other team disrupt the Gunners like that this term, and they were fully competitive for them.
The sensible thing would be to back the visitors here, because they are clearly able of roughing the hosts up too and, the last time they were in this part of London, they defeated the Blues at the end of last month.
But I am not going to choose that. Rather, I truly need to carry on opposing Sunderland with my predictions. I am claiming a lot of responsibility for their positive results because they evidently love to prove me wrong.
Looking at Fulham's at Craven Cottage form, the sole side they have been defeated by is Arsenal. Marco Silva's side will be absolutely desperate for a positive outcome, so I am going to predict they will pick up three points.
Sutton's prediction: 1-0
Olly's choice: I know the visitors are doing well and additionally that the hosts are on a poor run... but they have nonetheless been decent at Craven Cottage this campaign. 2-0
AI's outlook: 2-0
- Anfield, 15:00 GMT
This is a hard one to predict. The Reds have lost seven of their past 10 games in every tournament, but might they be among the sides who benefit from the {international break|
