Note: Key plot points for Episode 3 of the new season lie ahead.
The Warrior Group Introduced
The latest chapter concluded with a huge suspense moment and introduced the initial group of adventurers who will separate from the main group to embark on their own adventure, apart from the remaining groups.
This warrior group features Teor Pridesire (portrayed by Travis Willingham), Thimble (Laura Bailey), the strong-willed figure (the cast member), Wicander (Sam), and Kattigan (Robbie Daymond).
Dividing the Cast
Considering 13 cast members, it was clear from the beginning that keeping everyone at the same party would be unworkable.
This explains, the opening chapters of this story serve as an Introduction, connecting the characters’ stories before dividing into three smaller tables: Warriors, Planners, and Seekers.
What Defines the Soldiers Table
Per the DM, the combat-focused party is for participants who are drawn to a typically action-packed combat and conflict-driven story mode where non-violent answers are few and far between.
Upon first impression, figures such as the hesitant healer Wicander might seem unsuited, but the actions of the third episode make it clear why these specific adventurers are ideally matched for the warrior group.
Why They Must Go
First, the group knows exactly where to go next after a intense opening clash with the enemy group.
A former ally of the deceased character—whose demise kicked off the campaign’s events—exploited the foes for his selfish purposes, breaking into the secret base, assaulting the rogue, and taking all the magical artifacts to sell off.
Casimir then settled his debts and ran away to a Halovar stronghouse in the northern region, north of the city, with Cyd Pridesire pursuing him.
Individual Reasons
Additionally, each adventurer has a individual motive to leave the city the urban setting:
- The rogue, as the close ally and trusted friend, desires revenge.
- The adventurer is familiar with the region and cautions that it is a dangerous location.
- The warrior and Wicander, having disobeyed his family’s wishes to kill the target and instead saved him, have nowhere else to go.
- However, their reputation as prominent individuals in the powerful family could help the party enter places they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Additionally, The grateful character swore a eternal obligation to Wicander for his salvation and will now go with him everywhere.
Fugitives
Finally, all of them are sought by the authorities that govern the city for a variety of reasons, making lingering locally no longer safe:
- The rogue and Kattigan are recognized lawbreakers.
- The strong figure and The healer defied the powerful family and the horde of evil beings they are allied with.
- The fighter is marked for death by the family.
This means them no alternative but to travel to the remote area in search of the traitor.
