An additional two individuals are now in custody in connection with a theft at Heathrow Airport where 21 people were injured by what is thought to be pepper spray, according to police.

A 24-year-old man, was taken into custody in the Lambeth area on suspicion of robbery and assault and a 23-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of conspiring to commit a robbery. They both are still being held, the force said.

The arrests come after a probe into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal 3 on Sunday. Before the incident, a pair of female travelers were robbed of their luggage after getting out of a car park lift.

A three-year-old girl was one of the injured during the incident. A total of five individuals were taken to the hospital for treatment and have since been discharged.

Officers arrested a 31-year-old man for suspected robbery and assault close to the scene. He was subsequently released pending further inquiries as the investigation proceeds.

Authorities were called at about 08:10 GMT after reports came in regarding several individuals hurt by an irritating chemical thought to be pepper spray.

The assault - which authorities stated was a standalone incident and not considered an act of terror - resulted in train delays and the temporary shutdown of the main airport tunnel and the T3 parking facility briefly.
